Magic

The inhabitants of Vássoe would not call this magic, but since the majority of readers of this page are bound to be from Earth, I shall use that word here.

Will

Vássoean magic is based on the concept of Will. Any soul has Will (although a soul is not neccesarily associated with a mind), and this affects the world in accordance with their known and unknown desires. It can be applied in a multiple ways:

• Subconsciously applying one's own Will unto oneself and one's: Background molding
• Subconsciously applying one's Will unto one's surroundings: Will Leakage
• Consciously applying one's own Will in arbitrary ways (outside one's body limited to pushing things aorund): Molding
• Using a special ability one has to perform one specific action with more strength than one has: Tannui
• Applying another entity's Will by fulfilling the terms of a contract: Spells
• The aggregate of a group of souls' Will leakage: Background Will

Types of inhabitant of Vássoe

On Earth, each person has a material body, but in Vássoe this is not the case. Rather, a soul may be tied to several different types of things.

• A soul may be tied to funtional (biological) matter: Biodesis
• A soul may be tied to arbitray matter: Hylodesis
• A soul may be tied to a body that is an effect of its own Will: Autodesis
• A soul may be tied to a particular location: Chorodesis
• A soul may be tied to other peoples' Will: Thelemodesis. This is the case of summoned deities.
